Life || 15 Random Facts About Me

With some random  head shots of me, of course!
If you’re subscribed to my mail list (here), then this wouldn’t be news to you. The fact that lately I’ve been feeling a bit slow as regards blogging and trying to get myself organized and back in order. I think fashion week has a part to play in this as it sort of disorganized my blogging schedule.
I’ve decided to ease back into it all slowly by doing a fun personal post and sharing some random facts about me.
I love getting to know the people behind the blogs I follow so I hope you enjoy this as much as I would.
1.
My birth given name is actually ‘Sandra’ but I felt it was too random so somewhere between my first and second year in university, I switched to Cassandra and banned everyone from calling me sandra, although that’s still the name on all my official documents. So yes, its Cassandra, Cass or Cassie to you all and never Sandra.
Most people don’t know this but now you do.
2.
I got into the university when I was 14 (going on 15) and sometimes I think about the fact that I would have graduated at 18 or 19 if I had entered in for a four year course instead. Curse you Med School!
3.
I started wearing glasses in primary six (which I did just a term of), I still remember my first one with the red rope and walking into class wearing it. Its only gotten worse since then and sometimes I get scared and sad that I might be slowly going blind

4.
I used to hardly watch TV, till I graduated and had all this free time. You will most likely find me watching either Nicklodeon, Disney, Comedy central, Sony Max or Telemundo.
I’m sorry, no pretense to be deep here. I just love a good laugh and those stations provide that for me!
5.
I haven’t ever owned a bikini. I can’t swim and I also always shy away from wearing one so I didn’t see the need to buy any. I have this thing about exposing my butt cheeks to the world, maybe one day soon I’ll get over it. Maybe.
6.
Most people think I’m a picture freak but only those real close to me know how false that is. If I wasn’t a blogger/Model with an obligation to take pictures and also #DoItForTheGram, you’ll hardly find me snapping photos of myself.
7.
Singing/dancing in the shower is one of my ideas of having a good time. I give a pretty stellar perfomance that even Michael Jackson will envy in there. :’)
8.
I have this ulcer thing that sometimes make it hard for me to just live like a normal human being and skip meals anyhow I like. When I don’t eat, I get this terrible stomach and back ache.
Asides the ulcer though, I get cranky when I’m hungry and sometimes I cry too.
9.
Speaking of food, my diet is rubbish and my exercise routine is pretty much non existent. #Fail.
10.
I am fiercely proud of and love my height. I’m 6’1, although I wouldn’t want to grow taller than this. Haha
11.
I feel uncomfortable around people that curse and use swear words. I try so hard to avoid using it also and so far, so good. I also feel very uncomfortable saying words like ‘sex’ and other words I should be comfortable with (I.e certain body parts) especially seeing as I’m a doctor. My friends have a good time mocking me about this.
12.
I swear this isn’t an OCD but I can’t stand having so many messages/ notifications open on my phone so I end chats even while still chatting with the person.
13.
I’ve never had a proper birthday celebration, I hardly even buy cakes on my birthday and for the longest time I didn’t think of it as odd, till I got into the university and noticed the funfair around birthdays.
14.
I’m quite frugal because broke and unemployed. I’m really just a regular middle class nigerian girl except that I’m also a cool ass dope girl. Contradictory much? Deal with it!
15.
Oh hey, did I mention that I’m big on love and all things mushy even though I suck at showing it? Yeah, that too.

             And that’s it!
Started out the post initially thinking to post ten facts and not sure I could even get up to ten but look who did fifteen and still has more to share?
I’d like to get to know you better too! Tell me a random fact about yourself, please?

    • Lol, really?! But it can as well be my real name na. People (nigerians included) bear Cassandra.

Lol. My dad is like that too. Just one eye is bad so his glasses has one normal lens and one corrected lens. I think its weird :p

    • Frances Frances! Our Author! Shared one of your post on my bbm recently sef and someone pinged me to ask if I knew you personally and that she needs to know more serious minded people like you ________O_

      But that's unrelated. Lol

Thanks for stopping by and I just said let me stop oh before I cast myself more.

    • Awwww. You shared my post. Thank you!
Tell your contact we can meet up oh, i've not made it public on the blog yet but there'll be a singles hangout next week saturday in Lagos, if she's here and is interested sha πŸ™‚
I too wanna know her πŸ™‚

  • That one about your not being a picture psn, I am exactly like that, if I didn't v d plans of blog or social media psn, I dnt think I could have a single picture up sef. Lol. I am liking it tho recently.
Another not so random fact is I am seriously a box of paradox. I like hot, I like cold, I am indecisive. Lovely getting to know you more.

    • Ehen, thank God someone that gets me!
I've been enjoying it lately too especially my head shot on plain wall pictures, but selfies are one thing that I absolutely fail at. πŸ™

I'm also indecisive, and it can be annoying even to myself.

    • Oh I just love seeing first timers on my blog. Hi Tunrayo, I hope you stick around please. :*

Lol, I keep telling myself that I'll exercise when I'm this and that. Latest one now is that I'll start after I give birth. Smh

  • 9, 11, 12, 13, 15 is me!! … I know, that's a lot right? Especially the love thing, it's such an irony, it's sometimes.hard to believe. + don't worry gurl, you're not going blind.

  • Wow! Similarities. Jibola told me as much but didn't really believe him.

I love my name (Ijenna) and insist most times that people call me that. Most people don't even make an effort they just be like "Do you have an English name?"

I love and watch the channels you mentioned except Telemundo. YUCK. Although, I love Korean movies. I'm quite ashamed of that fact.

I agree with 5,6,7,8,9,11 except the body parts part. No problem with talking about anatomy, I'm quite blunt.

I'll leave it here before I end up doing my own 15 random facts about me post here πŸ˜€

  • Fair is fair Cassie. First I will say that I absolutely am in love with your given name "Sandra".

Tofia! to #3, loss of vision. Your eyes are too beautiful for that one.

    I can help you with #5. I swim like a fish πŸ˜‰

Regarding #11, I can cure the doctor. Lol!

One thing about me that I will share as a regular reader of your fashion blog is that I get a thrill out of taking pretty ladies shopping. Lol! Seriously o!

  • Lol, my name is Sandra and I also think it's random. My mum gave me Alexandra then decided last minute it was too long for my birth cert. It's one of my greatest pains.
2 is so me (I was 15 and wonder about 4 year courses too. Med sch. Huff!)
3 too, though I was in jss 2 and I'm scared about slowly going blind πŸ™ πŸ™
I also don't swear and flinch inside when someone does. I'm now the curse word police amongst my closest friends.
Loved getting to know more about you πŸ™‚

  • I be feeling like me and you (all that was bad grammar, I don't care lol) are kindred spirits. I read your posts and embrace your quirkiness and realness as aspects of my own self lol ESPECIALLY the shy about photos part. I am notoriously awkward and it becomes more prevalent when the camera comes on. Thanks for sharing this cute post!

  • Howdy! I could have sworn I've been to this blog
before but after browsing through some of the post I realized it's
new to me. Anyhow, I'm definitely happy I found it and I'll be book-marking and checking back often!

my site: Lavish Skin anti aging

  • Nice meeting you Cassie, Lol
I have this thing with ulcer too. In my case, i can delay meal until the hunger pangs and pain sets in… at some point in my Uni life, i was almost becoming bulimic
I love taking pictures for my own consumption, i loved the idea of modelling but i am shy as ever, only had a stint in Uni
That is it, maybe i will take a leaf from you and do some facts about me on my blog some day

  • Haha.. I get cranky when I'm hungry too and I dislike eating out because I'm quite slow.. I like staying in dark rooms and my mum thinks I'm weird

    • Me too my mum comes in and shouts the house down abt how darkit is…..then her cousin came over and now you…yeeeeea am not d only one….my name is Dr mim5z nice one precious

  • I hate cartoons, i dont like taking pictures, i used to feel weird about saying some words, but med school changed all that! I still don't like cuss words though. and I think I probably eat too much. Good thing I'm skinny.. Oh and I don't own a bikini and cannot swim(which is a waste as I am surrounded by beautiful beaches)

  • Hello Cassie,

    I enjoyed reading this πŸ™‚

Lol @ I get cranky when I'm hungry. Me too! Hunger saps me of the will to function properly, "a hungry man is an angry man" perfectly describes my situation at that point.

Random fact: I get really excited about new lipstick. I currently own 10 different lipsticks in varying shades of the exact same colour – Pink Brown.

Enjoy the rest of the week.

  • Wow! 14?? You were still a child!!
    How is that even possible??
    That's actually amazing

I suffer from ulcer and IBS too and suffered a really bad episode earlier this year where I had to endure a solid month of intense treatment. A balanced diet and eating at regular interviews (and abstaining from my first love, spice) cannot be taken lightly

    BLEURGH – http://www.bleurghnow.com

  • We have 11,12 and 15 in common. I just can't deal with people that curse or use swear words, glad I am not alone in this. Ohh not being to Show that I am big on love and mushy *rme* I am an epic fail at trying to show it sef

  • I enoyyyeeed reading this. And I think this is really cool. Random fact about me: I'm scared of dogs. It's because of the mindset I've had since I was a kid, and I've refused to let go of it. Maybe one day I will change πŸ™‚

  • OH! and i used to be uncomfortable when people use swear words… now i cuss. For the most part of law school my mouth was so filthy! i could use 10 cuss words in half a sentence. Now however it's gone. i don't even know how that happened… no effort on my path

  • Okay after taking my time to read through at first, I had to go back and read again.

So Yeah! No. 5 sounds like me, though I have owned a bikini but I can't swim, wonder why I should be competing with a fish, let's give them their space (consoling words to help soothe my pain when I see people that can swim)
No. 7. That's definitely me. I loved dancing outside before, infact I was termed "professional" but now my bathroom and my room are my audience *am I getting old*
No. 11. Swear words, I just feel they are better ways of expressing one's self than saying all of it. In actual terms it disgust me.
    15. I love love oooo but expressing it, chai!! May God help us, rather than hash tag #couplegoals, let us be doers….

It was amazing to have seen you on Saturday.

I nominated you for a grateful heart challenge on my blog, kindly do well to fulfil and do not break the chain o….

Teacher: *walks in with the list of noisemakers* If you hear your name, step out. No. 1 Sandra Ikegbune
    πŸ˜› lol, just kidding! 4,5,7,9,11,13,15 = ME.

  • Okay! Official rant off!!! First of all, I think we have almost everything in common, especially the glasses part. I'm seventeen I'm so scared I'm getting slowly blind. I want to be a model but I never thought models could yes glasses and I'm not even that tall anyways (5'6). I have like really fashionable sisters that I always check with before I step out in any outfit and I think our styles are really really similar. I just stumbled upon your blog recently and I can say fully that I'm in love because you're so you and it shows and we the readers can send that your not some fake ass designer labels freak! We need more people like you in Nigeria tbh. PS I'm starting my blog soon, any tips apart from he regular β€œbe yourself……blah blah blah. Like real stuff because I've really researched and planned (I've visited so many blogs indigenous and not) and I want to start really strong with as much help as I can get. You blog is my Inspo 100% all the way!!!! You rock!!!

  • That’s a really interesting profile about you Sandra.
    Let me start with mine.

My name is Emmanuel though my parents never called me that because they prefer to call me my native name (Osawonyi) which most of my friends are not aware of.
I was born in the North (Maiduguri) though I don’t know how to speak the language there which is Hausa.
I grew up in Lagos and I am from a big family that most people don’t believe my mum gave birth to all of us.
It started like a joke but I finally grew up to be 6:6feet tall and very slim before I fell in love with the gym and started gaining some muscle in the necessary part. Lol
I did modeling and schooled in Nigeria before moving to the United States and I don’t wear glasses guess I have been blessed with a 20:20 vision.
I could be very serious at times but I love laughing guess that’s why I tried comedy but I kind of saw it wasn’t for me but I still host event by the side till date.
I found myself understanding my religion more indeptly and knowing Christ more personal that I feel I have more peace within and am happy that my kids will be brought up in the right way in the future.
I guess that’s all I can say for now but it was nice saying some random fact about me here.

  • The glasses part, I can soooo relate, in fact, I need my glasses to find my glasses. Lol. Migraines disturb me every now and then, and I have to get stronger lenses each time. Random fact : I imagine stuff from just listening to a song, so much I often get caught in music-induced smiles.

  • Haha.. Cassie Cassie. Thanks for being you I must confess. I love this post, at least I’m getting to know more about you and more about blogging even though I’ve not taken a step yet. Random facts about me? I don’t wear glasses but I always prayed for one and my grannies made me look weird, maybe I am, Hehehe. About dressing how you really feel like? Oh babe, we’re alike in that. Top of it all, I love making random videos cause of the joy and happiness I find in it. Living alone in school has turned me to a video jerk, probably it’s who I really am. And guess what I do at night while other people in the hostel are praying, sleeping, speaking in tongues, meditating, reading, studying, thinking, Oh Lord, I draw my eyebrows and use lipstick, of course recording myself. Hahahaha.. Don’t tell anybody I told you!

  • Number 5: I laughed so hard at that one. Your not knowing how to swim could be excused. Nigerians could also be speedily judgemental about “indecent” dressing. but if you are confident in your own skin like I could remember you say a couple of times in your posts, it shouldn’t be a problem.

Number 11: Lolz to the lolest!!Me and cursing is like Bob Marley and weed. I know! I know! Lord have mercy on me but hell!! Don’t trip. God ain’t done with me.

Number 14: Cool ASS dope girl?? (word is ass). doesn’t sound too pleasant, does it. That’s kinda contradictory you know.
