WCW || A Few Of My Favourite Online Ladies For International Women's Day.

Friday, 10 March 2017
Happy International Womens Day!

How fitting is it that international womens day fell on a wednesday ? Just perfect for today's post which is all about some of the women who inspire me. Although, this post wasn't exactly inspired by international women's day. I only just found out this morning what March 8th signifies, but it gave me the extra push I needed to finally complete this post. It's been in my drafts for a while now and I figured I could tie both together - celebrate women while sharing a few of my favourite online ladies as well!

I've had one WCW post on the blog previously and you can read up on that here but while that was featuring people I happen to know personally and already have some sort of relationship with, this is strictly fan girling and a bit of a "style crush" post as well. I'll also be announcing the Lucy. Dave's giveaway winners at the end of this post so stay with me!

Let's dig in.

Shope Delano || @shopedelano
Uber cool kid Shope. She is a blogger over at and I've loved her right from back when she was running the blog "London's Closet" with her twin. She's also the founder of twoosie - a pop up fashion store for two piece sets.

La'Tonya Yvette || @Latonyayvette
Mama of two, lifestyle blogger over at, creative consultant and stylist. There's just something about her that endears me to her - I think it's a mix of her awesome writing style, style and super cute family. Whatever it is, I always love seeing her pop up on my bloglovin and instagram feed.

Asiyami Gold || @Asiyamigold
Asiyami is a designer and photographer. Her visuals are goals really and that's the major attraction for me. I love love what she does and how she manages to find beauty in odd places.

Yagazie Emezi || @yagazieemezi
Yagazie Emezi is a documentary photographer and visual curator. I've loved her long time and I still have a post all about my love for her in my drafts from 2013 which would be too awkward for me to publish now. Lol. Her style, creative eye and realness are just a few of the things I love about her.

Paola Mathe || @findingpaola.
If you've been reading this blog from the get go, then you'd already know of my love for Paola. I've interviewed her once for my style feature here and she has influenced a few of my style choices/posts like my turban love in this post and this
I have a serious love for her which is renewed every time I go through her instagram feed or blog. Paola blogs at and she's also the founder of Fanmdjanm - a headwrap brand.

If this aint love, I don't know what it is.

Going over this post again and I feel like I should have just titled this "style crush" because they be killing it in that department.

You might have already noticed this but the one thing these women have in common? Amazing style that's unique to them and a beautiful creative mind - emphasis on creative! They've been able to go for their dreams, live it and follow an unconventional path. I feel like I can see myself in them - their aesthetic and style are right up my alley and it makes them super relatable for me.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed sharing my faves with you. Oh and happy international women's day once again! Keep shining.

Style Crush || Andile Biyana

Sunday, 27 November 2016
I've mentioned more than a few times how much finding people with great style excites me. That's why I started this style crush segment on the blog - because I absolutely love sourcing out and sharing the stylish people I come across.
Its been a while I had a style crush post here though and I thought to correct that. My last feature was the awesome Cacsmy Brutus from New York here.

But now, allow me to introduce you to Andile Biyana my latest style crush.
Andile Biyana is a South African law student and one of the founders of a "fashion group" called Khumbula -  A trio of stylish south africans using fashion to showcase the African art. I'm not here to talk about the fashion group though. I singled out Andile because she happens to be the only female in the group and I LOVE her style, which is what I'm spotlighting here.

I've been following her on instagram for a while now, although I can't really remember how I came across her profile. I'm a huge fan of retro fashion, which makes up a big part of Andile's wardrobe as evident from her style. It is definitely not everyone's cup of tea but she owns it well.
Her style is different, refreshing and totally hers and that's what I love about it.

What do you think of her style? Also, whose style are you currently crushing on!
Leave me your thoughts please and let's connect!

Style Crush || Cacsmy Brutus.

Wednesday, 25 May 2016
 Hey guys!
Long time, no style crush post ey?

Its been a while I've been enthralled by someone's style. Majorly because I haven't been searching and I've been a bit disconnected from the web - in the sense that I no longer actively look up street style and people to obsess over.

The closest I got to a "style-gasm" recently was going through Paola matthe's instagram feed and oohing/aahing over how much more fun and daring her style has gotten over time!
I did a style feature on Paola here when I first started this blog and I've mentioned her a couple of other times on the blog here and here. She gives me so much life!

I digress though.

Paola isn't my main focus today, Her muse and fellow haitian cool kid "Cacsmy Brutus" is!
You might probably have come across a picture of Cacsmy or Mama Cax (as she's more popularly called) before on the web posing unapologetically with her prosthetic leg and serving face while at it.
I know I have. But I never really paid close attention to her till last night when I stumbled on her feed again while going through Paola's, decided to take a closer look, and I fell in love!
In love with both her style and how full of life she seems despite having had to deal with cancer and then an amputation.

Her style is definitely up my alley and I can see myself in most of the outfits she's wearing up there.

What do you think of her style?
I'm looking for more people to "style crush" and obsess after, so pleasee let me in on whose style you are currently crushing on!
Leave me your thoughts please and let's connect!

Style Crush || Sike Msuseni.

Sunday, 20 September 2015
Ah yes! Its a style crush post today and of course this also serves as some style inspiration for the new week.
Today's style crush gives me so much life and though this was one of those finds that you just want to keep to yourself because bae!, but I just had to share some of this goodness with you guys.
I came across Sike Msuseni recently on one of these increasingly rare days when the mother decided to pay for the WIFI at home and so I could afford to leisurely stroll through the streets of instagram, not only liking pictures of people I follow, but also checking out the other people in their pictures that I didn't know.
This was how I came across the lovely Sike - fashion stylist, and blogger over at all things intriguing.
It was love at first glimpse of her instagram page and I spent some more time scrolling through her feed, screen grabbing outfit inspiration for myself before finally going on the web to google more about her and read her blog.
Her style is right up my alley!! I mean, she's also about that vintage, head wrap/turban, androgyny, sock it up and sneakers life. Sisters or nah?
I think she's definitely a cool keed and I love how she reinforces just with her style that you don't have to be rich to have style. (Again, sisters or nah!?)

What do you guys think? Whose style have you been crushing on lately?
Tell Cassie!!! ^_^

In other unrelated talk, Today's message in church was too key! And I just want to encourage anyone that might be facing one trial or the other, that things might not be working out like you planned/pictured it right now but hang in there with praise/thanks in your heart and know that God Is working it out for you!

Have a great week guys and don't forget to leave me your thoughts in the comment box.

Dapper Style Inspiration || Sam And Ashley Owens.

Wednesday, 17 June 2015
I'm looking mostly at Ashley owens to be honest but they seem to go everywhere together and finding a picture of her alone seems near impossible. Anyways, who doesn't love a couple that slays together huh?

I've been feeling a bit slow and uninspired but was determined to take my own advice in this post on getting your blogging mojo back and so I did a bit of internet surfing and blog hopping trying to get back in the vibe of things, came across this couple whose dapper style is just a perfect conclusion to my previous post where I talked about 'the dapper lady' and if that word can also be used to describe ladies.
So if you ever had any doubts or I didn't do a good job convincing you, well here's more prove and dapper style inspiration from Ashley Owen who lives that life everyday in a perfectly tailored suit and her keen taste in menswear.
    Ashley Owens is a stylist, fashion designer and the Editor-in-Chief of She lives in New york with her underground musician and graphic artist husband Sam Owens - they have their own band called The Owens Family.

What do you guys think of their style? Thinking of donning a suit anytime soon? *wink*
