Throwback Thursday

Thursday, 28 February 2013
Yo Yo! *enters in gangster style*  How yall doing?

Its thursday and seeing as i havent exactly really done an outfit post, i decided to do a throwback post.
I'm throwing back to august/september ish last year..lol It still counts as throwback sha -_-
Towards the end of last year (august/september.) i was up in ATL for a well deserved break. I can still remember that day, i was a bit jobless so i called my little cousin to come take pictures of me.
I've had this gown foreeveerrrr, its now just a stay at home gown and for times when its too hot or i just cant be bothered with dressing up. I got this scarf from my aunt and decided to wrap it up turban style (my first attempt. hehe)

I got some really nice comments on my last post and i felt all warm inside, good to know that some people think im doing a great job :'). Thank you Guys.

Oh and as suggested by Sayedero, i'm now making my pictures bigger. I listen huh? :D

Goodbyes and New Beginnings

Monday, 25 February 2013
I like to think of myself as an aberrant from the norm.
I'm not exactly a regular teenager, you know the whole "Party, alcohol, drugs, young, wild and free" thing. nahhh. I've been called boring and its other synonyms. I'm more introverted and real chilled.

Last night i was a part of something wonderful. My friend - Pamela finally moved to SouthAfrica today for school so we decided to have a last moment cruise with her, kind of like a last "girls night out".
It was a night filled with so much laughter and fun.

Pamela , she's just too picture perfect!

Dera, Nazor, Pamela, Tracy

Notice how i'm not in most of the pictures? the photographer always misses out :(
Well, here i am finally. lol
We later hit the beach, major crazyness happens in Lagos at night. Damn!

I'll really miss my "pam-pam". She is one of the most positive people i've had the privilege of knowing. I've drawn sooo much inspiration from her both life related issues and fashion related things.  I love the fact that she knows what she wants and goes for it, so much ambition, passion and drive. Truly Amazing!

We have one life to live so enjoy it but be responsible about it.
I was up and early to meet up with school demands, pretty much exhausted right now.
How was your day?

Black and Mustard

Thursday, 21 February 2013
I had a pretty full day and i think this is actually how i want my days to be because then i'll have no time to bother about unnecessary things and people. :|
I'm all for going out and networking now,  i've come to realise the importance of networking although i dont really have much time because of school, i'll try to create a balance.

So, we are having our very first social media week in Nigeria right in the "centre of excellency" Lagos! Its been on since monday but i couldnt make out time to go for any of the workshops.
Today was a halfday so immediately after my class i ran down to the venue to listen to Adaku Ufere of www.thirdworldprofashional.com talk on "Lifestyle and Fashion Blogging as a profitable business".
Although i got there quite late because my lecturer decided to elongate his lecture and crack jokes too, i learnt some new things

I also decided to go "all black everything" but later changed my mind and wore my mustard waistcoat on it

lol. i look awkward in this picture

With Adaku (third world profashional'). This picture didnt do much for her gown but it was a really lovely gown and she was so nice and pleasant
A nice surprise, met my friend Uju Iloabachie(middle) and her sister at the event
Bidemi of www.thestyletrain.com and Cindy from Trends Media city. I love her skirt.

Too bad, i couldnt stay for the rest of the seminars, had to leave early. Helped my friend out for her shoot too, i'll probably blog on that later

Who else loves my waist coat? :D :|

Field Trip

Tuesday, 19 February 2013
Its yet another schoool week. bleeeeeeh* but i had an alright monday kinda. For once, i wasnt stuck in class receiving lectures all day long instead we went on a field trip.
I'm doing a community health posting now so it includes wellll, a bit of going out to the community. lol
We'll be going for field trips every monday now so i guess/hope my mondays will be a little better.
We went to a primary health care center at idi araba and i was pretty impressed with the way they ran their clinic, It was quite patient friendly. Also visited a correction home for children and it was an eye opener sort of. Overall, it was an enlightening experience.

I had to dig out my clinical coat and dress like a responsible doctor to be. lol
I couldnt wear what i planned to because i was too lazy to iron the night before so i just threw the only semi-rumpled shirt i found

My over sized clinical coat
At the correction home teaching the children on personal hygiene

Some of my group members.Someone tickled me, the reason for my wide smile. :|

OOTD || Denim and Pleats

Monday, 18 February 2013
For i know the plans i have for you,"declares the Lord."plans to nprosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. -Jeremiah 29:11

I literally hold on to that scripture up there, i can't begin to talk about how much strength i've drawn from it. it's truly amazing.
Hey, I'm no saint, i'm just here trying to be a better person, learning and endeavoring to be all I was created to be.

Okay, so its an outfit post and not a spiritual talk. Everyone loves the good old denim shirt, it is just so versatile and can be worn with about anything and in different ways too.
I decided to pair mine with my white pleated skirt to Church today.

I keep making weird faces -_-

My ankara pocket square.lol . i made it myself :d

I;m becoming a nuisance to people, always asking them to help me take pictures but i had fun taking these. Big shoutout to my photographer for the day. :D

Hope yall have a nice week

Better Late than Never

The best insurance policy for tomorrow is to make the best use of today - Unknown

Hey guys, Happy saturday? or maybe not?
I'm actually swamped with work at the moment, i decided to use today for serious school work and try to finish my literature review at least. Feels like i've been on it forever  but i figured hey it wont hurt  to just open another tab and make a quick post (i'm loving this blogging stuff) .
Okay, actually its the positive reviews and comments i've been getting that encourages me to blog more. Thank you all for the love, really really appreciate it ^-^
So, i wore this like a week or two weeks back to school. Planned to go celebrate with my friends graduating that day but ended up not making it because i also had a fitting that day. Some of them still havent forgiven me :(

lool. that was meant to be a gangster chic pose
I still have no idea why i always look darker in pictures, it bothers me. Guess you understand why i picked that quote today. Spent like ten minutes thinking of a title for this post, still couldnt come up something exciting. bleeeeh

Turband!!

Sometimes, you have to take the good with the bad. As long as the good outweighs the bad, then you are alright. - Allan Ray

Okay this post was actually meant to go up yesterday, but i had a little break in transmission.

I normally don't really dress up to school because i feel its totally wasted in my school, waste of outfit too. Nowadays, i don't even bother i just put on a denim pant throw on a nice top and just try to look pleasing to the eye.lol .
Although i also try to incorporate a little bit of me to whatever i wear so even though its just casual it looks "Cassandra casual". :;)
Today, i decided to just spice up my outfit by tying my scarf to a turband

finally made this post against all odds .lol
i loved my turband.

Beneath our perfect

Tuesday, 12 February 2013
If you know me well, you'll definitely know of my love for the gospel rock band "casting crowns".
I have a playlist for casting crowns that i listen to whenever i feel down, and sometimes just for the calmness of mind and peace i feel when i listen to them.
I just opened my music library on my laptop right now and the first song that hit my eyes was "casting crowns - stained glass masquerade".
Strangely, i havent acually seen that particular song on my laptop before so i played it and the message just hit me. That is why i love casting crowns, there is always a message in their songs, most times its something i can relate with. Good music has a way of healing the heart .
I'll just write down the lyrics
"Stained Glass Masquerade"

Is there anyone that fails
Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin' so small

Cause when I take a look around
Everybody seems so strong
I know they'll soon discover
That I don't belong

So I tuck it all away, like everything's okay
If I make them all believe it, maybe I'll believe it too
So with a painted grin, I play the part again
So everyone will see me the way that I see them

Are we happy plastic people
Under shiny plastic steeples
With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
But if the invitation's open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade

Is there anyone who's been there
Are there any hands to raise
Am I the only one who's traded
In the altar for a stage

The performance is convincing
And we know every line by heart
Only when no one is watching
Can we really fall apart

But would it set me free
If I dared to let you see
The truth behind the person
That you imagine me to be

Would your arms be open
Or would you walk away
Would the love of Jesus
Be enough to make you stay

Everyone look's so happy and full of life on the outside, but nobody ever know's what goes on inside. Are you really happy beneath your perfect exterior?
I just felt like sharing that with you guys.

Nothing is original. Steal from anywhere that resonates with inspiration or fuels your imagination. It's not where you take things from, its where you take them to. - Funfere Koroye
