Lagos Living || Lekki Conservation Center.

Tuesday, 24 December 2013
You like my title eyy? I figured using "Lekki conservation centre" will be too uncreative. Meh
I went to the lekki conservation centre during the weekend, i was pretty excited because i've been meaning to go there for a really long time now. So when the opportunity came, i jumped at it. Okay, No not really. I actually had no idea i was going to end up there hence my outfit choice which i'll get to in a bit but lets talk about the place a bit first.
I loved it even though there isn't as much animals as there used to be way back (Been there on an excursion when i was in secondary school). Its the kind of place you go to just get away from the whole craziness of Life. We walked on this raised boardwalk thing for what seemed like forever at the time looking out for animals. I saw mostly monkeys, birds and some little flying insects although i could hear the sound of frogs. Oh and there's this really amazing tree house, its a shame that i forgot to take pictures of it. I couldn't spend much time there because we had to hurry off to another place.
I'll definitely go there again and this time around I'll take time to enjoy the scenery and take loads of selfie's .:D
Here's what i wore. I couldn't take good pictures because i was being a nuisance and wouldn't just stay in one place. :( Finally got white denim pants!! Yaay!
Merry Christmas guys!!!
Much Love

T.I Nathan || The Aesthetic Man

Sunday, 22 December 2013
I'm always going on about my friend Tayo and for this fact i expect you guys to be slightly if not fully acquainted with him by now. If you aren't, he's the dude in this "post" and this one too.
Remember when I told you he has a menswear line? No? Okay, you might have to re read some of those posts. ;)
He does and I can proudly call him " a rising star". Soon, he'll be a big deal and all. Just watch and see. He released his first collection sometime early this year which I'm pleased to report was well received by the fashion community here in gidi Lagos as he has dressed IK Osakioduwa, Sarz, Skales, Wole Ojo et al and you can check it out here.
He just released his second collection themed "The Aesthetic Man" and even though I'm still lusting over some of the print shirts in his previous collection *side eye*, i think I've found new stuffs to lust over!

I really like the playful and casual nature of the collection and i'm not just saying this because he's my friend. Nope.

If you like what you are seeing, you can get at him at

Whatchyu feel?

P.S - I have another give away coming up soon! :D :D

Outfit || Blue-Green

Friday, 20 December 2013

I'm watching one of my crazy telemundo's (that I'm addicted to) right now and i can barely think well so I'll keep it brief and you guys wouldn't have to bear my ramblings today.
This is a really late outfit post that i totally forgot i had (i really should take a walk in my drafts a bit more often).
That's a typical "Cassandra trying to look like a proper med student" outfit. Took these pictures during my psychiatry posting. I've had that  blue skirt forever, seriously I've had it since i was in secondary school but it was an A-Line skirt back then (Very unflattering, trust me). I honestly dread thinking about what i looked like in it! Mahn! I dug it out from my box of old clothes and gave it to the tailor to make it fitted and i think this works way better! Paired it with my green top which you guys are getting realllyy familiar with. lol (Seriously guys! Blue and green is a match made in colour heaven!!)
Very uncreative post title yeah? Thinking up a title is actually the hardest part so cut me some slack biko.
Hope you're all doing good?

A few Online Faves

Thursday, 19 December 2013
In as much as i love fashion, i equally love words, poetry, prose or anything written as I've tried to show you all here and in some of my posts here as well. So it won't come as a surprise that most of my online faves aren't strictly fashion/style blogs.
I'm not good with graphic design at all, if not i would have made the screen shots below look a bit more palatable. Please forgive my deficiency.
In no particular order, here are just a few of my online favorites. Click on the names to redirect to their blogs.
  1. Babes in Velvet : I recently discovered this blog and I've been hooked. I absolutely adore their style, especially Chloe. Her style speaks to me
  2. Where did you get that : Karen rocks androgyny and vintage like no other and she also does a bit of street style photography which is really good for style inspirations.

3. The Divided : Its really amazing when i see young people with the mind of a grown up. That's what i really love about Zoe of the divided. Of course her style too is pretty dope. Her sister Toyin who she runs the blog with too also slays with her style.
4. Nadia Aboulhosn : Her blog is also a new discovery. Nadia is a plus size model and all round fashion bad ass. I really like the way she starts her posts with quotes, they almost always speak to me

 5. Katrina Labra : Oh, Katrina's writing is just so beautiful. I couldn't get enough of her blog when i discovered her . That's all i have to say
6. Ihundas Musings : Afoma is another amazing writer and its always a delight to read her posts.

7. Yagazie Emezi : I'm always raving about my love for Yagazie Emezi on my twitter and to anyone else that cares to listen. I have a full post in my draft stating how much i love her and why but it might be too creepy so i'm keeping it right there for now. Two words : She's dope!!
8. Raychillster : Really cool tumblr
9. Indie Byline : She has such a beautiful mind, its so easy to see. I absolutely love this blog and I'm pretty sure you will too.
10. Cassie Daves : Oh Yes!! But of course :D
Also Teff the Don is another new favorite of mine and BlackFabulosity.

Check them out guys and i hope you find them as lovely as i do.

Outfit || Getting Plaid'

Monday, 16 December 2013

I've been feeling a lot less inspired to really dress up of late and i honestly don't know what to attribute it to. I try to surf the net for inspiration or just go through my previous outfit posts and see how i can mix it up to create a new look. I decided to draw inspiration from my Tartan/Plaid Inspiration Post and pull out this tartan skirt i've had for a really long while now. I was going to wear it with a denim shirt but green also works real good with blue. Pardon my rumpled top, that's what happens when you leave planning your outfit till morning (PHCN will most likely fuck you up and leave you with no alternative)
Took these pictures in the Magenta room of a place called "Stranger Lagos". Its a super chilled one-of-a-kind boutique/micro-cafe located in Lekki. I'm so painting my next room in school this colour, It certainly demands your attention!

I'm already lazying my December away. I hope you guys have been a bit more productive than me?
What do you do when you are feeling stuck in a rut to revive your spirit/Creativity? Or feeling a bit uninspired. Also any style inspiration blog/site suggestions you have
Please do share!

I would have loved to tell you all about the amazing birthday weekend I had and put up a picture of my equally amazing cake. But no! Today's post is about something entirely different
My package from Fashpa arrived just yesterday and I've been beyond excited. Mostly because I don't really have many dressy dresses in my closet but i'm working on changing that and the dress i got from them is a perfect start. I got this sinful dress which now that I think about it would have been perfect as a birthday outfit (but then I never do all that birthday senrenre stuff)

What's Fashpa?
Fashpa is a recently established online fashion store here in Nigeria which stocks the latest trends in clothing items, shoes, accessories and beauty products, all for different occasions. Their items range from international brands such as Zara, Topshop and Asos to local designers and boutiques.

Every month, they create a lookbook to update customers on the latest trends and for the month of December they have created a lookbook called 'LUSH GAL' which is themed with bold prints of leopard skin, Aztec prints and polka dots, bold colours and statement jewelry that can help you transition from great day to night looks

Check out the lookbook below and start shopping!! (Trust me, their stuffs are pretty affordable. I would know, i can be ijebu when it comes to shopping :| )

No! I'm not showing you the dress i got from them just yet. Not even a sneak peak, but i really can't wait to rock it (I'll be looking like one hotstuff in it B-))

Oh and their delivery was fassttttttt! Like I literally had to jump out of bed, use a mouth wash, throw on a gown and rush down so I wouldn't keep the dude waiting. I mean I just confirmed my order barely an hour before the package arrived.  I was super impressed and the packaging was really nice plus i got a complimentary sunshades.
Check them out.

Psssssssst : Delivery is absolutely free

20 Things i've Learned in 20years

Sunday, 8 December 2013
Happy Birthday to Me!!!!
Wow! It honestly seems like just yesterday that i was 16 and hiding my age from people because i felt too young. Right now i feel ancient! lol. I know its just 20 but its a big deal for me. 20 means a whole lot of things, for one it means I'm getting old and well, that sucks.
I'm just going to share 20 things i learned in my 20 years on earth
{I dont know what went wrong but i scheduled this post to go up on the 8th of december but it didnt work out *sigh*}
- Pain is an integral part of life : I'm starting with pain because that's one of the first real emotion i had to deal with and it thought me a lot and helped me grow! i learnt that there really is light at the end of the tunnel, that pain ends eventually but you have to choose to be happy instead. It will pass, you will survive and you will be a better person for it.

- God has the perfect timing : Patience has never been one of my greatest virtues and I've made lots of wrong decisions just because i refused to be patient and trust God to come through for me but really He has the perfect timing, it takes a little patience and faith but its worth the wait.

- Comparison is the thief of joy :  Its easy to get carried away comparing yourself with others but I've had to learn that its not a healthy way to live. A friend once told me "There's nothing as great as a thing whose time has come" and it stuck!  So remember darlings we are all unique and special, be easy on yourself, work hard and focus on doing you.

- You create your own calm : Having had to pick myself up and get my shit together has taught me how much power I truly have in my life. I'm responsible for my own happiness, no one else!

- Feelings are fickle : Most times its better to trust your head than go with your heart.

- Never settle for less than you deserve : Especially in Love.

- Be nice to everyone : This one I'm really still learning because people can be very annoying but it can never be overemphasized! Treat everyone right not only because you don't know what people are going through but also because you don't know who's help you will need later in the future. You know that friend you fell out with? Just apologize and let it go.

- Trust your instinct

- Let Go : You may never really forget people/things that hurt you but you can release them. You become free of them when you do. Let it go baby.

- Stop thinking and start doing : If there's one thing i learnt from finally cutting my hair is that its better to make all the mistakes you can now and learn from them. At least now i know that cutting my hair might not have been the best idea but i'm just really glad i did something i've always wanted to do.

- Love Yourself : You gotta learn to love yourself , love your flaws, love your imperfections. Accept yourself.

- And your Body too : I've gotten comfortable with my body. I love my size even though i go through insane periods where i think I'm too fat and i love my height even more regardless of some of the Problems that come with it.

- Self confidence will take you places : Most often, People will perceive you how you perceive yourself. The aura you give off is very important, make sure you send off the right vibes.

- Be your own person : Be not afraid to not conform to the norm. Don't make decisions or live based on what others think or are doing. Dress the way you want!  Know yourself and Be yourself

- Be thankful always : For even the littlest things that people do for you, saying thank you is really important and it just saddens me when people don't realize this

- The littlest things in life matter the most.Because really everything else is jut vanity. This life is vanity so hold on to the things that matter the most. Friends, family, laughter.

- Its okay to not be okay : I wrote a post on that here

-The company you keep around you is very important : Surround yourself with positive thinkers and doers. Trust me, you'll be better off for it

- You really don't need to be in a relationship: Especially because everyone else is in one and you feel alone. Nope, its not compulsory. A relationship shouldn't be out of guilty conscience, convenience or a moment of desire.  Learn to enjoy your solitude

- Group of 3 never works, someone always feels left out - Yup!I have first hand knowledge of this

This is a scheduled post so please forgive and overlook any grammatical errors, i had to rush this up or deal with an angry Tracy (my friend)

Outfit || Think Black x Final Hair look

Thursday, 5 December 2013
First off, guys please can we observe a 1 minute silence for the amazing pictures I took for this blog post that i couldn't use because it was taken in an inaccessible format.
The pictures were taken by a proper photographer this time and you know how excited I get when I have real photography for my blog *sigh*
I've vowed that whenever/if I do retrieve the pictures I'm posting them up here as a continuation post or something. I don't curr, but they can't go to waste! :|

Here's the final look of my big chop hair, its not as high as i wanted it but that can be easily fixed by adding a teeny weeny weave to the front and that's what i'mma do. I was done taking these pictures when i realized dang! i didn't take a picture of the back view, I'm sorry :(. I'm getting used to the look  and i can even say i'm totally loving it now!
I think i did pretty good with this outfit for someone who spent quite a while thinking of what to wear ,almost gave up at a point and decided to just do with her good ol' black denim pant. At the last minute, i pulled out this double slit skirt (Psssst.. A little secret, it used to have just one slit at the back but i changed that :D) and decided to try it on with the top i already planned to wear out and it worked! Just shows that over thinking stuff kills your creativity sometimes. Spontaneity could be really rewarding.

Soooo, any comments on the final look? Bring em on people!!

Please guys, like my facebook page :here . Thank you!

UPDATED : I've also styled this skirt here
